The Thursday before Memorial Day is apparently the very last day in Spring for beating the Black Hills tourist crowd. We took advance of it.

These views are from the top of Hihankahapaha, otherwise known to us pale skins as Harney Peak. We've been told that it's the highest point between the Alps and the Rockies.

With our eagle eyes, we spotted a buffalo munching on the shoulder of the road as we drove through Custer State park.
