Jay Allen has already begun construction at the Base of Bear Butte

One of the organizers of the rally asked us to take pictures and video of the event. Here's Carl, hard at work.

Several motorcyclists showed up in support of protection for Bear Butte.

The event made the evening news all across the state, as well as the front page feature of the Rapid City Journal.

The staff carriers lined up for the prayer gathering. They also were the ones to lead the car caravan and the march.

As the crowd at Bear Butte grew bigger, people were getting excited!

The parking lot overflowed a long ways down the road.

The school bus in the background is from a school on Cheyenne River Reservation.

Bear Butte as a backdrop....

The lead truck carried a sound system to each point where we gathered. There were many inspiring words shared over that microphone.

Here the group is gathered again in Sturgis (after the car caravan) before a prayer that will begin the march.

The staff-bearers have lined up to begin the procession through the town.

Behind the staff-bearers and the veterans came the women holding the lead banner.

Here we are in front of the Sturgis Community Center after lunch, getting ready to march to the Courthouse.

Here the crowd has gathered outside the Courthouse. The people in front are gathered around a drum group singing the AIM song.
